Are partners possesive in love?

Love is not ownership.
Possessiveness may feel intense, but real love does not need to control, monitor, or isolate someone to feel secure. Healthy relationships are built on trust, respect, communication, and room for both people to remain themselves.
“I love you” should never mean “you belong to me.”
It should mean: I choose you, I trust you, and I respect your freedom.

Oh people knowing me would say this is not me.

What is mine is mine!!

It's not that I don't trust you, u respect you blah blah. I do all those things. It's just that I don't trust other people.

So please stay away from my person

Love is an open sky, not a cage. Controlling or doubting someone isn't a sign of affection—it is simply a reflection of one's own insecurity.

Genuine love values trust, mutual respect, and individuality far more than possession. The mindset of "you belong only to me" suffocates a connection, whereas believing "I choose you and respect your freedom" is what keeps a relationship beautiful and lasting.

A little jealousy may be natural, but love should never become control. True love is about choosing each other every day, with trust, respect, and the freedom to be yourself. Love should feel like a safe place, not a cage. :heart1:

When we try to explain in abstract terms its never understood in real life situations.
I learned this concept years ago -
Show me, how it looks to you ?
When we show examples of freedom and respect other person can have a better idea how their behavior affects us and where changes can be made. It takes a maturity and patience to learn about each other. It is not going to happen over night and not without several fights. Until than commitment to each other and to relationship helps more than love.
