There is a feeling slowly taking over me. It isn't hatred, nor is it anger. Even my heart refuses to call it tiredness. And yet, this silence has completely taken over me today. Without saying a word, it is teaching me so many things and helping me understand myself in ways I never did before.
It is never easy to pretend not to notice the faces we still wish to talk to. A part of us always longs to turn back, to look at them once more, to say something, even when we have decided to stay silent. The heart doesn't learn to let go so easily, especially when there are still words left unsaid.
Still, the person I am today is slowly learning to live with this silence. Perhaps the losses I've been through have taught me to accept things more peacefully, without needing to explain everything or find answers to every question. Maybe this is what is best for me now.Sometimes, silence helps us understand ourselves better than words ever could. And I am slowly realising that there are moments when staying quiet isn't about giving up on someone or becoming distant. It's about protecting the little peace we have left, listening to our own hearts, and choosing not to lose ourselves while trying to hold on to others.
Perhaps, sometimes, silence is not about walking away from others. It's about finding our way back to ourselves.
