A GENUINE HEART IS NOT A JOKE...
I know I'm not entitled to anyone's love. I never was. Nobody owes me the same feelings I carry for them, and I've never expected anyone to love me just because I love them.
But I still believe one thing: you can reject someone's feelings without making them regret having them..
What might be a joke or casual conversation to you could mean the world to someone else. You might never understand how much courage it takes to be genuine, how much hope a person carries silently, or how painful it is to feel that their sincerity has become entertainment.
I never asked anyone to love me back. I only hoped that the feelings I expressed with a genuine heart would be treated with a little kindness.
Maybe I was foolish to feel so deeply. Maybe I expected too much from people. But I refuse to believe that being sincere is something I should be ashamed of.
Reject my feelings if you must. Disagree with me if you want. Just don't humiliate me for having a heart that was genuine.
Sometimes, it's wondering whether the sincerity you gave someone was ever worthy of their respect.
I can accept rejection. I can accept silence. But I won't keep offering my genuine feelings where they're treated as a source of amusement..
