You are absolutely right, but I feel that sometimes people from outside the field can offer a perspective that helps us understand the risks involved. Yes, we shouldn't let their fears overwhelm us, but listening to their concerns isn't a bad idea either. That said, for the final direction, you definitely need an expert!
