Why do people feel jealous

Jealousy is an emotion common to all humans as soon as they start thinking… May be even toddlers show this when their mother hugs another baby! But they are babies.

Why do we feel jealousy?

This is because

  • We are greedy
  • We are not satisfied with what we have
  • We want what others have
  • We are angry with this kind of unequality in life
  • We are angry with our fate
  • We feel we are not favoured by any angel or lady luck
  • We cannot control our mind
  • We cannot be happy with what we have
  • We don't realize all these are meaningless after death

WHen I can't get something then I will spoil what you have, this gives me a happy sense of satisfaction.

This is the reason why we hurt others who are happy and have what we don't have or what we can't have.

A jealous person likes to see others sad, depressed, disturbed by problems or at least crying. That is why they hurt us as anger takes over their life, eyes become blind to the atrocities they do on others, mind loses it sense of good and bad and heart is closed.

Have you heard of this example of drawing two lines and asking a person to make the shorter line longer? A normal person will just take a chalk and lengthen the shorter line, whereas a jealous person will rub the other person’s longer line and make it shorter than his/hers.

WHY THEY HURT OTHERS?

That is because it’s the only thing jealous people can do. They have invested so much time and effort in ruining other’s lives that they’ve forgotten that they also had to improve. So, since they haven’t even been in touch with their own self, how are they ever going to know or believe that they can improve instead of getting other people down to their level. And because they have been trying to get someone down for a really long time and that hasn’t been successful, they’re angry on themselves, on the people around them and on so many other entities because they didn’t improve and nor were they successful in getting the other person down.

WHY YOU FEEL JEALOUS?

It is human nature to be competitive and comparing, but all that matters is with whom you’re competing and comparing with. Intelligent and Smart people know that comparing themselves with others is going to bring them pain because the other person hasn’t lived their story and vice versa. The fools think it’s good that they’re ahead of someone else in the race, not knowing that both of them are running different races and at different levels of difficulty and speeds and purposes.

A few reasons for a person to feel jealous include:

  1. Too much focus on other’s lives
  2. Inferiority complex
  3. Lack of self-belief
  4. Self-esteem issues

We can be our own worst enemy , yet if we set a daily challenge on accepting / improving ourselves, we can appreciate and value not only our own uniqueness but each other. Nice post my friend x
