MaYa
Favoured Frenzy
For her, he was an unfinished wish, something her heart asked for but life never granted.
For him, she was someone attractive, someone he felt drawn to, even when he tried not to think about it. If his life had been settled again, he would have chosen her without doubt. But timing was never kind to them.
The message came after many silent days.
“It’s been a long time since we met. Do you want to meet?”
Her heart paused. She had been waiting for those words since the day they last said goodbye.
“Yes.”
“I’ll be there by 1:30.”
“Okay.”
She washed her hair slowly, carefully, letting the fragrance stay, hoping he would notice. He always did. When he arrived on his Himalayan, she felt the familiar comfort return. He asked where they could have tea, and she led him to a small nearby shop. She drank her tea quietly. He chose black tea and lit a cigarette. They didn’t speak much, but everything felt heavy with unspoken emotions.

“Aren’t you hungry?” he asked softly.
“No,” she said. “We’ll eat later.”
They rode again, the wind brushing past them like memories. On the way, he bought a few beers, as if he already knew the day would need them.
The place they chose felt hidden from the world, a small studio room surrounded by trees and a quiet pond. The room was simple yet warm. The bed was small but comforting. He always chose places that felt right, places that matched her heart. Books rested on shelves, soft lights filled the room, and a galaxy projector waited in silence.
He opened the first beer. Words began to flow. They spoke about their pain, their broken moments, the things they never said to anyone else. They understood each other without explanations. Music played softly in the background, wrapping the room in warmth. Though it was still afternoon, they closed the curtains and let the galaxy lights fill the space with stars.

After the first bottle, he lay down and opened his arm for her. She moved closer, resting against him. The hug felt familiar, safe, something she had missed more than she realized. She looked at his face and smiled, a smile full of things she couldn’t say.
“Say something,” he whispered.
“Nothing,” she replied, because words would only break the moment.
He leaned in and kissed her gently. Her fragrance pulled him closer, and his familiar scent made her heart ache. He held her face in his hands and kissed her deeply, slow, careful, as if afraid of losing her again. Above them, the galaxy lights glowed softly, witnessing a moment they both knew was real, even if it was never meant to last.
