The Sunrise

[The Atlantean]

The beautiful goddess Athena stood atop the acropolis by the Parthenon
Her golden armour glimmered in the light as the sun rose above the horizon
Her long brown hair flowed in the gentle wind

She closed her eyes and felt the warmth of the sun against her skin
Athena opened her eyes and they shimmered in the light
As she looked down Athena saw a ship anchored by the harbour

She watched a man walk through the streets of Athens
He walked onwards until he reached the acropolis
Athena watched the man as he began to walk up the acropolis

Moments later he had reached the Parthenon and stood in front of her
"My goddess Athena" said the man as he took her hand and kissed it
"My hero Odysseus" said Athena as she smiled at him

They stood side by side and watched the sunrise together
"The sunrise is so beautiful" said Athena
"Not as beautiful as you my beloved Athena" said Odysseus

Athena reached out and held Odysseus's hand and looked into his eyes
Odysseus stared deeply into her eyes for a few moments
They held each other close as they continued to watch the sunrise

The goddess and the hero stood atop the acropolis by the Parthenon
The warmth of the sun and the gentle breeze against their skin
