Inspector Abberline and Lucy had arrived at the pub and sat down in a quiet corner and talked about the murders , "the ripper must be stopped before he kills someone else" said the Inspector as he held a tankard of beer in his hand. "Yes Inspector , I suspect it may be a while before he kills again" said Lucy as she moved her hands towards the candlelight for warmth , "there have been other murders before these ripper murders but we were not able to link them to him" said the Inspector.
"Hmm then he could have been killing for longer than we thought" said Lucy as the Inspector drank his beer , "those murders took place on April 3rd and August 7th and the wounds were similar" said the Inspector. "Hmm the ripper could be responsible for those two earlier murders then" said Lucy , "I suppose but there was no evidence then and no evidence now , it is difficult to prove anything" said the Inspector as Lucy looked through the window.
"Who were these four women he murdered?" Asked Lucy , "ah there is one connection there , the four women were prostitute's" said the Inspector. "Hmm interesting , that means the ripper will most likely keep targeting prostitute's" said Lucy , "it seems so , he must be completely mad" said the Inspector , "well the way he butchered those poor women does seem excessive" said Lucy as the Inspector finished his beer.
"Right then it's time I was off home" said the Inspector , "oh Inspector , it would be wise to keep your men on high alert and make sure they patrol the poorer areas more" said Lucy. "My men wouldn't dare to venture into the poor area , at least not without a few other officers present" said the Inspector , "very well Inspector , all sorts of awful things happen in the poorer areas of Whitechapel" said Lucy , a few moments later Lucy and the Inspector said goodbye as they left the pub.
The days passed by without any murder's and then days turned into week's , it was now October 31st Halloween , meanwhile at Scotland Yard the police headquarters , "it has been a just over a month now without a murder" said Inspector Abberline as he talked to Lucy over the telephone , "hmm yes that is unusual , maybe because the ripper did not plan to commit two murder's last month" said Lucy , "hmm yes you may be right Lucy" said the Inspector.
After they ended the telephone call the Inspector continued his paperwork while Lucy stayed at her brother's house , another eight days had passed by and still no murder. "I'm sure the ripper will strike again" thought Lucy as she sat beside the fireplace and sipped her tea , as Lucy relaxed on the chair heavy fog descended over Whitechapel and it began to rain a little , the fog filled the streets of Whitechapel as the rain splashed against the cobblestones.
The police patrolled the rain soaked cobblestone streets of Whitechapel as the fog became thicker , hours passed by and the gaslight street lamps glowed as nightfall came. Meanwhile amongst the shadows and fog Jack The Ripper was waiting and watching for his next victim...
