Epic Legend
Odysseus was all alone now as he held onto a piece of wreckage from his ship as he drifted across the sea , time passed and eventually Odysseus found himself shipwrecked on an island called Ogygia. He walked across the beach and into the forest and suddenly heard plants rustling nearby , "who's there?" said Odysseus as he looked all around him , moments later a beautiful woman had appeared in front of him , "who are you" asked Odysseus as he ran his fingers through his hair and raised an eyebrow.
"I am Calypso , welcome to my island" she said as she smiled a little , Calypso showed Odysseus to her home just a little further into the forest. A few minutes later they had arrived at her home and they went inside , "please sit down and rest" said Calypso , Odysseus couldn't help but to think something was odd , Calypso brought him some food and water and sat down opposite him , "what happened to you" asked Calypso.
Odysseus told her about his journey and how he ended up shipwrecked on Ogygia , "so much danger on your journey but you are safe here" said Calypso as her eyes glimmered in the light. "Hmm I don't trust her" Odysseus thought to himself as he drank some water and ate the bowl of food she had given him , "I think you should stay here on Ogygia with me" said Calypso , "that's a generous offer but I must find a way to get back home to Ithaca" said Odysseus.
"Oh that is unfortunate , I really must insist that you stay" said Calypso as she walked towards the door and locked it , "what do you think you're doing" said Odysseus as he put the empty bowl down on the table. "I can't let you leave me all alone" said Calypso , Odysseus moved swiftly and grabbed a dagger from the shelf on the wall , "you can't escape from me or this island Odysseus" said Calypso as she moved towards him slowly.
"You're not really going to hurt me are you?" She said in a seductive tone of voice , Odysseus put the dagger down onto the table and then sat down. "We are going to have a lot of fun together" said Calypso as she smiled at him , Odyssey was trapped on Ogygia... The years passed by until one day Odysseus found himself sitting on the beach , "seven years stuck on this island with that mad woman" Odysseus thought to himself as he shed a tear.
Meanwhile... the almighty god's and goddess's of Mount Olympus looked down upon Odysseus and watched him , Athena the goddess of war and wisdom turned to her father Zeus the king of the gods. "Look there father , poor Odysseus trapped on that island and so far away from home , can't we help him" said Athena , Zeus thought to himself as he held his white long beard then said "why should I help him he's just a human" , "he's not just a human he's a hero and clever too" said Athena.
"Hmm if I did help Odysseus , Poseidon would be furious" said Zeus , Athena kept trying to convince Zeus , "hmm Odysseus is trapped on that island so he would have to escape by sea , so making Poseidon angry is not a good idea" said Zeus. "But you are king of the god's , all other god's and goddess's must obey you" said Athena , Zeus smiled and said "very well I shall help him" , moments later Zeus talked to Hermes and sent him to Ogygia.
Hermes flew away from Mount Olympus and towards Ogygia as fast as lightning , within a matter of moments Hermes found himself in the beautiful forest on Ogygia. He walked through the forest and saw Calypso picking some flowers , she stood up and turned around and said"oh it's you Hermes , what are you doing here" she said , "I was sent by Zeus , king of the god's , he demands that you let Odysseus go" , "but I love him" said Calypso angrily , "it is the will of Zeus , you dare defy him" said Hermes.
Calypso went silent for a moment and said "very well I shall let him go" , "a wise decision Calypso" said Hermes as he started to walk away , moments later Calypso headed to the beach. "I must let you go Odysseus" , Odysseus nodded and said "yes I want to go home" , Calypso shed a tear and ran to her home , over the next few days Odysseus had built a raft , "finally time to go home" said Odysseus as he pushed his raft into the water.
He climbed onto his raft and sailed onwards towards Ithaca , meanwhile Poseidon looked down from Mount Olympus and grumbled , "WHAT!? , ODYSSEUS HAS ESCAPED FROM OGYGIA" shouted Poseidon. He gripped his golden trident firmly and said , "I'm coming for you Odysseus...." Moments later Poseidon transported himself to Odysseus's location...
