The Atlantean
Epic Legend
The Greek warriors had won the war , Trojan bodies lay on the ground in the city of Troy as Odysseus searched for Achilles , he walked past the dead Trojan bodies until he finally found him. Achilles lay there lifeless as Odysseus kneeled beside him , "you battled well , my friend" said Odysseus , he picked up Achilles body and took it to a nearby field , Odysseus's crew dug a grave and carefully placed Achilles body inside and buried him , Odysseus and his crew stood around the grave and layed their respects then headed towards the beach.
Odysseus stood on the beach as his crew boarded their ship , the Trojan blood on Odysseus's sword dripped onto the sand , "time to sail home" thought Odysseus. He joined his crew on board his ship and then they started to sail away towards home , suddenly it started to rain and thunder and lightning boomed and flashed amongst the clouds , as the rain fell heavily and the wind blew stronger the crew battled the storm but the ship was blown off course.
Several hours later the storm had vanished , Odysseus and his crew saw land ahead of them and they sailed towards it , a short time later they had arrived at a place called land of the lotus eaters. A place where special fruit grows , Odysseus knew the legends about the special fruit , the fruit was so delicious that anyone who ate it would never want to leave the island , as Odysseus looked around he saw his crew eating the fruit and said "NO! don't eat them..." , but it was to late.
A short time later Odysseus and his crew began to explore the land of the lotus eaters and discovered a cave , the went inside the cave and discovered a pile of treasure sitting there as it glimmered in the light. Odysseus's men looked around the cave and then started taking some of the treasure , suddenly the ground started to shake , the ground shook more as something headed towards them , Odysseus's men drew their swords and shields and prepared themselves.
Moments later a large Cyclops called Polyphemus entered the cave , "what are you doing in my home" shouted Polyphemus as he looked at them with his one large eye. Odysseus ordered his men to get out of the cave , "I'm going to grind your bones at make stew with them" grumbled Polyphemus angrily , Odysseus saw a spear leaning against the cave wall and picked it up , he gripped it firmly then threw the spear at Polyphemus.
The spear flew through the air fast towards Polyphemus , "ahhhhh" screamed Polyphemus as the spear impaled his eye , Odysseus and his crew ran between Polyphemus's legs and ran towards the field of sheep. "I cannot see , I'm blind" shouted Polyphemus as he blindly headed to the field , Odysseus and his crew were smart , they climbed under the sheep and held onto them and began to make their escape , "father , almighty Poseidon god of the sea , punish the man who blinded me" shouted Polyphemus.
Odysseus and his men had finally escaped from Polyphemus and let go of the sheep , moments later Odysseus sent the sheep away then he and his men boarded their ship and sailed away from the island. The sailed onwards peacefully until they reached an island called Aeolus , Odysseus and his men were greeted by the keeper of the winds , "please come and stay at my palace" said the keeper , Odysseus and his men went with him to the palace and joined the celebrations.
