It's now 21st December 2913 and four months had passed since the assault on the sanctuary base, Sam and Vanessa were working in the hydroponics bay. As they walked around the room watering the plants the computer began to speak, "Captain we have received a message" said the computer, "thank you computer" said Sam, "it could be from the surface" said Vanessa.
Sam and Vanessa put the watering cans down then rushed to the control room, a few minutes later they had arrived at the control room and played the message. "This is Admiral Lidiou, a vessel will be on it's way to bring you home next week" said the Admiral, "looks like we'll be spending the the holiday here again then" said Sam, "let's see what else he says" said Vanessa.
Sam continued to play the message as he and Vanessa sat down in their chair's, "we would have sent someone to bring you home sooner but we were at war with the American Federation" said Admiral Lidiou. "Hmm that explains why they didn't message sooner" said Vanessa, Sam continued to play the message, "the war the ended a week ago, the American Federation collapsed and the Atlantic Oceanic Alliance has taken control over their land and territories" said Admiral Lidiou.
"The American Federation have finally fallen, it's about time!" Said Sam, "now maybe there will be peace from now on" said Vanessa. Sam continued to play the rest of the message, "hold on a little longer you'll be home soon" said the Admiral, "we should start packing our belongings, it'll save us from doing it all later" said Sam, a few minutes later Sam and Vanessa left the control room and headed towards their sleeping quarters.
After they arrived at their rooms Sam and Vanessa started packing their belongings into their case's, a short time later they took their bags to the air lock room and placed them outside the door. "Packing is all done, now we can enjoy what time we have left here" said Vanessa, "yes let's enjoy the peace and quiet" said Sam as they walked through the corridors towards the canteen.
Four days later...
It's now 25th December 19:00 pm and Sam and Vanessa had just finished their evening holiday meal, "only three days until we go home" said Sam. "Even after everything that happened here I'll miss this base" said Vanessa, "me too, but it'll be good to feel the wind and the sun again" said Sam, "I'm sure mother will be happy to see me" said Vanessa, "mine too, we've been here so long they probably got worried we'd be stuck here" said Sam as he held Vanessa close.
Over the next two days Sam and Vanessa had spent the night's together having sex and their day's together, playing some game's and watching movies.
The next day...
It's now 28th December and today was the day that they would finally be taken home, Sam and Vanessa were sitting in the game's room when the computer informed them that a vessel was approaching the base. "Well it looks like they've arrived" said Sam, "I'm going to miss this place" said Vanessa, a few moments later they walked through the corridors towards the air lock room.
"Vessel docking" said the computer, "computer deactivate all systems after we leave" said Sam, "yes Captain" said the computer as Sam and Vanessa took their case's into the air lock room. "Hell there I'm Christy, are you ready to go?" She asked, "we're ready" said Sam as he and Vanessa stored their case's of belongings into the vessel, "I'm really looking forward to us living together" said Vanessa.
"Me too, I can't wait to see your home" said Sam, "you'll love it, there's plenty of room and it's near the coast" said Vanessa. Sam smiled at Vanessa and then kissed her, then a moment later he and Vanessa joined Christy on board the vessel, a few minutes or so later the vessel's air lock and door was sealed and they departed from the base, moments after they left the base, the computer shut down and powered down all systems and the base went dark and silent.
Sam and Vanessa looked out of the vessel's window and looked at the base that had been there home for so long and watched as it faded into the dark abyss. "It won't take to long to reach home" said Christy as she piloted the vessel towards the mainland.
