I sat, pretending to be awed
By the greens and blues,
all inanimates passing my window.
But in all honesty,
I was interested in the lively being
an empty seat away.
I sneaked glances at him
and his reflection in the window.
His head bobbed to the melody
flowing through the plugged earphones
While i had only my racing heart
to thank for the beats
keeping me company.

Sighing at my own frivolity,
I began reading my book.
Four lines through and he went -
" Didn't know you read too "
"That's - Crime and Punishment"
"So - Kill a mockingbird ?"
"The Fault in your stars !"
"Atlas shrugged"
"The Lord of flies"
"The line of Beauty"
I turned to the window
Hiding my red face
and saw him smiling at me.
