Step outside, breath freeze, welcome to the north,
Five months of cold, yeah we built a different force.
Snow on the streets, ice dripping from the sign,
Minus twenty feelin like it’s minus forty-nine.
Layers on layers, hoodie, coat, then more,
Still shivering while I’m scraping ice off the door.
Tim’s in my hand, double-double keep me warm,
While the wind outside tryna straight up cause harm.
City never sleeps, even buried in white,
Traffic moving slow, but we still on time.
Boots in the slush, yeah the grind is real,
But we slide through winter like a hockey deal.
Salt on the sidewalks, ice on the lane,
Every step a gamble, slippin part of the game.
Sun gone early, dark by five,
But we still show up, yeah we keepin it alive.
Summer feels short, winter long as a song,
But we laugh through the pain, keep the playlist strong.
From coast to coast, under northern lights,
Cold hands, warm hearts - yeah that’s Canadian life.
Thanks,
