Odysseus and Athena sailed across the sea for days passing by Crete and other islands they had visited on their adventure , they saw land up ahead , they sailed onwards a little longer until they had reached the harbour and anchored the ship , "ah yes a familiar place , it's good to be back in Athens" said Odysseus. Athena and Odysseus walked through the streets of Athens as the sun shone brightly and the gentle breeze flowed , Odysseus bought some supplies for their journey and walked to the edge of the city , "I have a friend that can take us further on our journey" said Athena, she whistled then moments later a beam of white light shone down from the sky and a white winged horse flew towards them.
The horse flew down through the sky at high speed then landed next to Odysseus, "this is my friend Pegasus" said Athena as Odysseus patted Pegasus's head , Athena and Odysseus climbed atop Pegasus and held on tight. Pegasus ran forward and launched himself into the sky , Athena and Odysseus held on as Pegasus flew at high speed towards Thessaloniki, they saw the city just ahead of them as they looked down from the sky , Pegasus flew down through the sky lower and lower then landed just outside Thessaloniki , Odysseus and Athena climbed off Pegasus then they all walked into the city.
The citizens looked on in amazement as they saw Pegasus, they welcomed Odysseus, Athena and Pegasus to the city as they prepared for the festival , As the sun started to set Odysseus and Athena walked towards the inn and went inside Pegasus stayed outside and decided to rest for the night. The next morning Odysseus and Athena woke up and had breakfast before heading outside, they joined Pegasus and then walked through the streets of Thessaloniki , the streets decorated with flags and flowers as music played and filled the air , they walked around then Odysseus asked a woman a question, "What's this festival for" asked Odysseus , "oh you will see soon enough , it only happens every few years" said the woman.
The citizens of Thessaloniki danced and sang as others played games and participated in sports events, the sky so clear as the sun shone down, a few hours later the light became strange then suddenly a woman shouted "it's starting..." As she looked up at the sky....
