Athena , Odysseus and his men held their shields up and their weapons firmly as they walked inside the empty fortress , as they reached the courtyard inside the clouds grew dark and thunder started to rumble , " something is here" said Athena in a suspicious time of voice , suddenly the torches around the walls lit themselves as Odysseus and his crew moved into formation around Athena. Suddenly a bolt of lightning struck the ground in front of them and then a wall of fire burst out of the ground and suddenly a dark figure appeared in front of them , the man stood there , his body heavily covered in battle armour as he gripped a large axe , "Ares, I should have known" said Athena.
The man laughed, his laughter boomed through the courtyard and then he said in a chilling tone of voice, "yes it's me , Ares god of war" , "so you're the one that's been controlling those poor creatures" said Odysseus , "yes" laughed Ares as he gripped his axe tightly , his eyes glowing bright red. "Why did you do it" said Athena , "oh one simple reason dear Athena , because I could" said Ares in a colder eerie tone of voice.
Odysseus and his crew changed formation and pointed their weapons at Ares, suddenly Ares laughed loudly, "haha , pathetic mortals , you think you can beat me? , I'm Ares god of war" he said as he started swinging his axe through the air. "I'm sure they could beat you, but I know I can beat you Ares" said Athena.
"Let me handle him Odysseus" said Athena , Odysseus ordered his men to wait at the fortress entrance and joined Athena, "you're not doing this alone mighty Athena" said Odysseus , he held his sword tight as Athena grasped her spear then Ares started running towards them.
Ares swung his axe towards Odysseus as he raised his sword , the axe sliced Odysseus's sword in half then Odysseus swiftly rolled out of the way , Ares swung his axe towards Odysseus again then suddenly Athena moved as fast as lightning in front of Odysseus blocking Ares's attack with her divine spear , "you will not harm Odysseus" said Athena, "oh so you're protecting your mortal lover , how weak you are" said Ares.
Athena's eyes glowed bright gold and sent out a massive burst of red and gold energy, blasting Ares through the air and through the fortress wall , "how dare you insult me" said Athena as she grabbed her spear tightly , suddenly a sword appeared in Odysseus's hand seemingly from out of thin air, the sword glowed bright, "a gift from the god's" mumbled Odysseus. Ares charged towards Athena and Odysseus in a blind rage , then just as he was about to strike a massive burst of dark energy exploded between them , "what now" said Odysseus as a dark figure with long dark hair and glowing purple eyes appeared in front of them , the figure holding a black sceptre in his from grip black smoke surrounded the figure, suddenly the figure became a little clearer to reveal a man standing in a pool of purple fire , the man growled and mumbled a little as dark energy surged around him , "it's Hades.." said Athena with a look of shock and concern on her face...
