Epic Legend
A few weeks had passed and the shadow continued to stalk the streets of River Hollow , the townsfolk had become more afraid and some no longer dared to leave their homes after sunset. It is late in the evening and the fog blanketed the entire town as Rose and Gabriel continued to hunt down "the shadow" and put a stop to the killing , they stood atop the rooftops and watched as they looked for any suspicious behaviour below them.
Suddenly they saw a dark figure walking fast through the thick fog and acting suspiciously , "let us follow that person there" said Rose , a few moments later Rose and Gabriel moved swiftly across the the rooftops and followed the dark figure. "Faster , they are heading towards that alley beside the factory" whispered Gabriel , suddenly a scream filled the air as it echoed around them , "come on , the shadow has struck again" said Gabriel.
They jumped from one roof to another and a few moments later they had reached the alley beside the factory , they looked down and saw the dark figure looming over a dead woman's body , their knife soaked in blood. Gabriel and Rose quickly climbed down the roof and then jumped down into the alley surrounding the shadow , "we meet at last "shadow" , you have been very busy" said Gabriel , "do not get in my way or I shall kill you as well" said the shadow.
"I shall deal with you myself" said Gabriel as Rose moved next to him , Gabriel whispered in her ear "go to the harbour and wait there , if the shadow escapes that is where they will go" said Gabriel. A moment later Rose ran into the thick fog and headed towards the harbour , "the police will be here any minute" said Gabriel as he moved closer towards the shadow , the shadow gripped her knife firmly and then charged towards him.
Meanwhile as Gabriel battled the shadow Rose had arrived at the harbour and hid herself amongst the darkness and waited as the wind grew colder. Back in the alley Gabriel and the shadow continued to fight each other , it had become so cold that they could see each others breath in the air , the shadow thrust their knife towards Gabriel but missed , Gabriel grabbed the shadows arm and then ripped their mask off , the shadow groaned a little and quickly covered their face.
"So you are a woman , interesting" said Gabriel , the shadow punched Gabriel in the gut and picked up her mask and made a run for it , "that was a cheap shot" said Gabriel as he chased after her. Gabriel followed the shadow as she ran through the thick fog as the smell fish filled the air , "must be getting close to the harbour now" thought Gabriel as he continued to chase her , "there is no escape this time" said Gabriel as the shadow jumped over a wall.
A few moments later...
"Damn I have lost her" said Gabriel as he looked around him , meanwhile at the harbour Rose heard a noise coming from the dock , "it is the shadow" she thought as she watched them running towards the lighthouse. Almost three minutes later Gabriel had appeared at the dock , "Rose , where are you" he whispered , Rose emerged from the darkness and stood beside him , "the shadow is a woman" said Gabriel , "how do you know?" Asked Rose.
"I ripped her mask off during our fight , where did she go?" Said Gabriel , Rose pointed towards the lighthouse and said "she went in there" , a moment later they ran towards the lighthouse and then opened the door quietly. They went inside the lighthouse and looked around , "there is no-one here" whispered Gabriel , "I saw her come in here , she must be here somewhere" said Rose , suddenly Gabriel almost tripped over a rug , "wait there is something beneath this rug" said Gabriel.
He moved the rug out of the way and revealed a trapdoor , "a hidden door" said Rose as she looked down , Gabriel quietly opened the trap door and a few moments later they climbed down into a secret room beneath the lighthouse. A few moments later they saw the shadow standing there beside her desk , "do not come any closer , I have placed traps around you" said the shadow as she slowly turned around and looked at them then smiled.
"I know what you are...you are vampire's!" Said the shadow , "how did you know?" Asked Gabriel , "that is my business , take one step and the holy water will fall on you" said the shadow. "Why are you murdering those innocent people?" Asked Rose , "reason? I do not need a reason...but I suppose it is a lot of fun" said the shadow and began to laugh , "I was right , you are insane" said Gabriel as he looked at the mechanisms on each side of the wall.
"But who are you?" Asked Rose , "oh your mother knows who I am , we met a long long time ago....my name is Nyssa" she said , "I have never heard mother mention you" said Rose. "Tsk tsk , your mother and her secrets , now do forgive me I must take my leave...goodbye" said Nyssa , A moment later Nyssa opened a secret passage behind the bookshelf and vanished , "I think I can get out out of this trap" said Gabriel as he took a couple of things out of his pocket.
"Jam this into those gears on your side of the wall and I will do the same on my side" said Gabriel , a few moments later they jammed objects into the gears , the gears became jammed as they started to crush the objects. Gabriel and Rose quickly jumped out of the way and moved to a safe distance just in time , the mechanisms broke and holy water fell from above , "that was close , now let us get away from here" said Rose.
Later that night they headed towards Rose's home and sat in the living room , "Nyssa knows my mother , hmm.." said Rose , "maybe we should go and ask your mother about her" said Gabriel. "Yes we must catch the steam train to Blackthorn Valley tomorrow , but let us rest for now" said Rose , a few minutes later they went to the bedrooms and slept through the night until dawn.
The next day around 3pm...
Gabriel and Rose had arrived at the train station and waited for the train to arrive , "the train to Blackthorn Valley will be here shortly" said Rose. Five minutes later the train had arrived at the station , "time for us to go , maybe your mother can help us" said Gabriel , Rose nodded and a moment later they boarded the train , a couple of minutes later the train began to move as it rolled down the tracks , "Gabriel and Rose sat down and looked out of the window.
"It should not take long to get to Blackthorn Valley" said Gabriel , "yes it shall be good to see my parents again" said Rose as the train thundered down the tracks...
