Epic Legend
As Rose peeked out from behind her door she saw a woman and man standing there in the hall whispering to each other , a moment later they turned around and saw her. "Mother and Father? What are you doing here" whispered Rose , "we came to give you a present for your birthday" said her mother Talia as she smiled at her , Rose took her parents hands and led them into her bedroom and then sat on her bed , "a present? , what is it" asked Rose.
"Of course you know the necklace we gave you protects you from the sunlight" said her father Daniel , "yes I know , I am supposed to wear it when I am outside during daylight or I die" said Rose. "Well we have been working very hard back home in Blackthorn Valley , and we successfully created a potion" said Daniel , "our potion will cure you , you will no longer need to wear the necklace while you are outside in the daylight" said Talia.
"A cure!!" Said Rose as she took her necklace off and put it on the desk , a few moments later her parents Talia and Daniel gave her the present. Rose opened the box and inside was a needle filled with the potion to cure her , she picked up the needle and injected herself with the cure , her eye colour flickered between red and gray as the cure spread through her veins , her eyes were gray once again as Rose breathed slowly as she felt the cure burn inside her a little.
Rose smiled and then thanked them for the cure and hugged them , "we must go now" said her mother Talia , "yes sunrise will be here soon and we need to board the steam train" said Daniel. "What about you? , there is more of this cure for you?" Asked Rose , "I am afraid not , the cure needed a very rare ingredient and there was only enough for you" said Talia , a few moments later her parents Talia and Daniel left the house and ran towards the train station and boarded the train to Blackthorn Valley.
After they left Gabriel came out of the spare room , "what is going on I heard voices"he said , "it was just my parents bringing be a gift for my birthday" said Rose. "Oh that is nice" said Gabriel and then went back to bed , Rose went back to bed and got some rest , the next morning Rose and Gabriel had already awoken and stood outside as the sun shone bright , "the cure...it works" thought Rose as she felt the warmth of the sun against her soft pale skin.
A moment later they walked through the busy streets until they had arrived at the train station , "ah my train is here , however I shall return this evening , I have some business in Edenvale" said Gabriel. "Ok it was nice meeting you and thank you again for saving me yesterday" said Rose as she waved at him while he climbed aboard the train , a few minutes later the train had left the station and rolled down the tracks towards Edenvale as the wind blew gently.
Later that day...
Rose walked through the park at the edge of town and sat on a bench by the small lake as the sun had set , a moment later she heard a scream coming from the dark alleyways nearby. Rose stood up and followed the other townsfolk towards the dark alleyways , a few moments later she saw a small crowd forming around the edge of an alleyway , Rose moved closer and saw a man's body laying there , the body had multiple cuts and knife marks all over it.
"He has struck again" said one of the women , "who has?" Asked Rose as she looked at the woman , "the shadow of River Hollow , you have not heard of him?" said the woman. Rose shook her head and said "I only moved here to River Hollow recently" said Rose , "this is the shadows fifth victim in the last month" said the woman as the police had arrived , "ok move along everyone , we have this under control" said one of the policemen , Rose walked away and headed towards the train station and sat down.
Half an hour later the train had arrived River Hollow and Gabriel climbed off , "I did not expect to see you here waiting for me" said Gabriel , "there is some news , a killer walks among us , they call him the shadow" said Rose. "Ah yes I have heard of him , I thought it was him the alleyway that night when I saved you , but I was mistaken" said Gabriel , "let us go to my home it is not to far away from your house" said Gabriel as they began to walk through the streets.
Several minutes later...
Gabriel and Rose had arrived at his home atop the hill a few streets away from her house , "your house is beautiful" said Rose as she looked at the ivy creeping across part of the wall and the flower beds beneath the windows. "Let us go inside and have some tea" said Gabriel , a few moments later they were sat in the kitchen and drinking their tea , "I should tell you something about myself" said Rose , "oh and what is that" said Gabriel , "I am a...vampire" said Rose.
"Yes I did suspect that when I saw there were no mirrors in your house , I know vampires very well" said Gabriel , "but how" asked Rose , "because I am also a vampire , I am able to go outside in the daylight as well since my brother Altair cured me" , "Altair?... Altair Van Helsing?..the legendary monster hunter?" Said Rose , Gabriel nodded and said "yes he only vanquishes the evil monsters not the others like us" , "that is a relief , but we must find this killer , the shadow" said Rose.
"Yes I think he will strike again tonight...but we will be ready for him..." Said Gabriel...
