The fire was burning bright and filling the room with a soft orange glow as Rose and the woman sat in front of the fireplace , "my name is Rose , nice to meet you" she said , "my name is Eve" said the woman. "So what can you tell me about Evelyn Grey?" Asked Rose , "I do know the man that was accused of murdering her was innocent" said Eve , Rose ran her fingers through her hair and asked how she knew that , "well...after the trial and execution a woman claimed she was with him around the time of Evelyn Grey's disappearance" said Eve.
"Hmm interesting , why did she not say anything sooner" said Rose , "she was out of town and didn't come back until it was to late" said Eve as she warmed her hands by the fire. "Evelyn Grey practiced dark arts , you know..the occult type of thing" said Eve , "yes I know about that , I read it in a book at the library , I also checked the weather records for that year" said Rose , "yes it was a very foggy day with thunder and lightning but no rain , I have read that book myself" said Eve.
"However , rumours have spread over the years , some people think that she disappeared as a result of her own dark magic" said Eve , "do you think that is true?" Asked Rose. "Not that is absolute rubbish , magic does not exist anymore" said Eve , "anymore?!" Said Rose , "yes magic used to exist about seven hundred years ago but suddenly vanished one day" said Eve , "what do you think really happened to Evelyn Grey?" Asked Rose.
"I can't say anything for certain but I think she was murdered and possibly haunts that old house of her's" said Eve , Rose told her what had happened when she was at Evelyn Grey's old house. "Yes strange things happen there , that is why people normally stay away except for the people that renovate and clean theat old house" said Eve , Rose nodded as she thought to herself for a moment , "if I were you I would stay away from Evelyn Grey's house , you were lucky this time but you may not be so fortunate if you go back there again" said Eve , "hmm that almost sounds like a threat" thought Rose.
A moment later Rose dismissed the thought and smiled a little , "oh one more thing , Evelyn Grey has a descendant living here in Trinity Hale" said Eve. "Oh that is interesting , who is it?" Asked Rose , "it's a woman called Lily Grey , she lives at the north edge of town in a big house atop the hill" said Eve , Rose thanked Eve for her help and a few moments she left the house and walked towards the north of the town until she reached the big house at the tip of the hill.
"Hopefully Lily Grey can tell me more about her ancestor" thought Rose as she stood outside the house about to knock on the door...
