We were on bed, and she was being all naughty there.
Scratching my shoulders with her long fingernails. Pinching my waist. Biting my neck, and I was like: "Relax, girl."
She said, "Okay, imagine- I was drowning and you pulled me out of the sea. Carried me all the way here to this bed in your strong arms. And now I'm barely breathing. Won't you save me?"
"But that won't be a kiss. That would be like helping you
breathe through my mouth."
"I wanna know how you will do that."
"No, I ain't playing this game."
Oh! She was in some playful mood that evening. What she did was-she got up and went to the bathroom. When she returned, her hair and face were all dripping. She came to the bed and lay flat on the pillow. She closed her eyes and held her breath.
I couldn't help but smile. I watched her. Observed her.
Those damp hair. Those damp pink lips. Droplets running down her neck. Oh, a minute ago she was such a menace, and right now she looked like the most innocent thing in the world.
And such a stunning, gorgeous thing! She kept holding her breath, and I was like: "I have to save her." I mean: even if I have to give up my life, she has to be saved.
And so I saved her.
I eased towards her, and adjusted the hair from her cheeks and forehead. A strand was lying right at the corner of her lips.
I pulled it away too. And then, lowering myself, I let my lips steal a kiss off her such soft, delicate lips. She still pretended like she couldn't breathe, and so I pressed a little harder and breathed into her mouth. She giggled. I giggled. But that was momentary. I tightly gripped her hair and planted my lips on hers. That silenced her. That silenced both of us. And then, well then, yep then, we kissed like we meant it. My mouth covering whole of hers, sucking in the fullness of her lips. It was different, this kiss. Wilder. Wholesome. Felt too full of life.
Like I was gulping her and she was gulping me. The sound of the kiss was also like we were thirstily drinking each other.
Plopping sounds. Oh, this kiss was meant to save her. And I'm sure it did. But it was going to wound her lips a lot too!
