Celebrating the birth of a beautiful human being
who rose to the state of divine by learning not to suffer
even when all the miseries attacked him from all sides.
This is the highest ideal of Yoga - not to suffer the pain but letting the inner spirit shine.
This is what Christ is also about.
May the Christ in you shine bright.
May your spirits outshine all difficulties of life.
Today is Vaikuntha Ekadasi in India.
A very auspicious day for Lord Vishnu.
On Vaikunta Ekadashi it is believed that
Vaikunta Dwaram(gates of Vaikunta Loka-where Lord Vishnu lives) opened/opens on this day.
The significance of Vaikunta Ekadashi can be traced back to the Padma Purana.
The Purana indicates that Bhagwan Vishnu took the form of
‘Ekadasi’-female energy-to kill demon Muran.
Impressed by Ekadasi, Shri Vishnu told her that whoever worships him on this day will reach Vaikunta-Loka.
This happened during the month of Margazhi (December-January).
That is why Ekadasi which occurs in the month of Mrigasira and
Magazhi holds utmost values and importance specially in South-India.
Early in the morning of the Vaikunta Ekadasi, the doors leading to
the Inner Sanctum of Shri Vishnu is opened and people enter through this.
Special poojas are performed. The door remains closed during the other days.
Holding a water fast today and chanting the name of Lord is considered as precious today.
Wishing you all a beautiful Christmas and Vaikunta Ekadashi
