The crowd of lizard people changed and shouted as they watched Sam and Raj fight to the death in the arena , Raj gripped his weapon and thrust it towards Sam. Sam swiftly moved out of the way and fired a shot , the laser blast hit Raj in the leg and wounded him , the lizard people cheered as Raj limped around , his leg burned from the laser blast , "attack him" roared the crowd of lizard people , Raj thrust his weapon towards Sam once again but missed him.
Meanwhile aboard the ship... "We need to get Sam and Raj out of there now" said Vanessa as she sat at the tactical computer , she fired a barrage of lasers blasts and torpedoes at the lizard peoples ship. The laser blasts and torpedoes collided against the enemy ships shields weakening them , "their shields are down to fifty percent" said Ilya as Emilia entered the bridge , "we didn't expect to see you up here so soon Emilia" said Vanessa.
Emilia sat at her navigation computer and started scanning the enemy ship for weaknesses , "I've found a weakness on their ship Vanessa" said Emilia. "Where is it?" asked Vanessa , "target their weapons array , it's connected to their power core" said Emilia , Vanessa targeted the enemy ships weapons array and unleashed a barrage of laser blasts and torpedoes , "BOOM" ....the torpedoes smashed against the enemy ships shields with force.
"Their shields are down" said Emilia , Vanessa kept targeting the enemy ships weapons array and fired the laser cannons , "KABOOM" ....the enemies weapons array exploded into pieces. The explosion surged through the enemy ship and destroyed their engines , meanwhile back on board the lizard peoples ship Sam and Raj grappled each other as they awaited for their rescue , the crowd cheered as Sam pinned Raj down on the floor and pointed the gun at him.
Suddenly the explosion surged towards the arena , "what was that" said Raj , "our friends must've opened fire against this ship" said Sam , the ship shook as the explosion came closer towards the arena. Sam helped Raj up off the floor as the leader of the lizard people roared in anger , meanwhile back on board their ship Vanessa looked concerned as the explosion was spreading faster through the enemy ship , "beam them out of there now" shouted Vanessa.
"I'm having trouble locking onto them , I can only beam one up at a time" said Emilia , moments later Sam was beamed out of the enemy ship and arrived safely on board. "Come on beam me out of here , this ship is going to explode" thought Raj , moments later... Light surrounded Raj as they started to beam him out , "you're not leaving here alive" said the leader of the lizard people as he drew his disrupter gun , he fired it and shot Raj in the back just as he was being beamed out.
Raj arrived on board the ship and then shouted before collapsing , "get us away from here" said Vanessa as Sam arrived on the bridge , Ilya flew the ship away as fast as she could then "KABOOM"...the enemy ship exploded. The shockwave from the explosion just missed their ship as they flew at high speed , "medic team to the transporter room" said engineer Yamada , moments later the medic team arrived and took Chef Raj to the medic area for treatment.
Doctor Thorn examined Raj's wounds just as Sam and Vanessa entered the room , "those disrupter guns are nasty , it made a lot of mess" said Doctor Thorn. "Will he live" said Sam as Doctor Thorn scanned Raj's body , the doctor remained silent for a moment and then put the scanner down , suddenly Raj started to have a seizure , blood dripped onto the floor as his body shook and twisted itself , Doctor Thorn injected him with some trioxin to stabilise him.
Moments later Chef Raj's arms flopped over the edges of the bed and he stopped breathing , "I'm sorry you had to see that , there's nothing I can do for him now" said Doctor Thorn. Sam , Vanessa and Doctor Thorn stood there beside him in silence for a moment as a medic placed a sheet over him , "how many people are we going to lose on this journey" said Vanessa , Sam hugged her and held her tight and then they walked out of the room and headed to the bridge.
A few minutes later Sam and Vanessa arrived on the bridge , "Chef Raj is dead" said Sam , Ilya and Emilia sat there in silence as Sam and Vanessa sat down in their chairs. "I'll miss his cooking" said Emilia as she shed a single tear , "I'll miss his desserts" said Ilya as she flew the ship onwards towards the next solar system , Sam and Vanessa left the bridge and walked down to the dining room and kitchen area and stood there in silence for a moment and then talked to the cooks.
Vanessa and Sam promoted one of them to head chef and then shook her hand , "thank you for the promotion , I'll do my best" said Elena , a few days after Chef Raj's funeral... The crew had finally arrived at the edge of the next solar system. "Ok everyone let's see what's waiting for us this time" said Vanessa as the ship entered the solar system...
