The shadows and the sinister laughter continued as they surrounded Chef Raj as he slowly moved around the corridors.
Meanwhile down in the basement... Sam and Vanessa looked around the room for anything that seemed suspicious. Sam walked towards a cylindrical shaped device in the dark corner of the basement and scanned it , "Vanessa , over here I found what that signal device is powering" he said as examined it closer.
Vanessa walked over towards him and shone a light on the strange device and said "what is it doing" , "I don't know yet" said Sam , he pressed a few buttons and then suddenly a hologram appeared on top of it. The hologram glowed as it showed a images of the structure they were in and a voice started to talk , "warning , leave this place it's not safe" said the voice , Sam and Vanessa looked at each other with concern , "this planet is inhabited by extremely...dangerous...creatures.." said the voice.
"We need to get out of this place" said Vanessa as she and Sam grabbed their Delta rifles , the voice coming from the hologram device started to cut out a little. "Beware.... beware the...shadows.." said the voice. Moments later the voice cut out and the hologram faded , Vanessa and Sam ran towards the elevator and went inside , the elevator moved up and then several minutes later Sam and Vanessa had arrived back in the main room , suddenly they heard a scream , "Chef Raj , he's on his own upstairs" said Sam and Vanessa.
They ran upstairs and looked around the corridor and searched for Raj , they went from one room to another as they continued to search for Chef Raj. A short time later they found Raj laying on the ground inside the laboratory room and walked towards him , blood dripped from the claw marks across his face and his uniform torn open as Raj held his hand over his left eye , "get away from me" he said as he slowly crawled into the corner of the laboratory.
"It's ok , it's us , you're safe now" said Sam , "what happened to you" asked Vanessa , "I saw shadows and heard something laughing and then it attacked me" said Chef Raj. Sam and Vanessa helped Raj to his feet and then they walked downstairs and into the main room , moments later Sam pulled out his communication device and contacted the ship , "beam us up , we're not alone on this planet" he said , "the sandstorm is interfering with the transporter , we'll have to wait for it to calm down" said chief engineer Vox.
"Damn it , it looks like we're stuck here for now" said Sam , suddenly they heard a sinister laugh coming from somewhere nearby , "oh no , it's the creature , it's coming to get me" said Raj. Sam and Vanessa aimed their Delta rifles in front of them and slowly moved around the main room , while they're backs were turned Chef Raj screamed as a creature picked him up and threw him across the room , Sam and Vanessa quickly turned around and fired their Delta rifles.
Laser blasts flew through the air hitting the walls and furniture as the creature shifted in and out of the shadows , "keep your eyes on that creature" said Vanessa. Sam and Vanessa continued to fire laser blasts towards the creature as Raj reached for his gun , the creature screeched as Vanessa shot it in the chest , Sam fired at the creature several times in it's chest to make sure it was dead , meanwhile outside the sandstorm started to calm down and then suddenly Sam heard chief engineer Vox's voice on his communication device.
"I can beam you out in ten minutes" said Vox , Vanessa stood by Sam's side as they looked out of the window and watched the sandstorm calm down. The creatures finger started to twitch and then it's eyes opened , suddenly Raj screamed as the creature leapt towards him , "what the hell , that thing was dead" said Sam , Vanessa and Sam fired their Delta rifles as the creature clawed at Raj ripping his uniform to shreds , Sam and Vanessa shot the creature in it's head and then watched as fell to the floor.
"Ahhh my hand" screamed Raj as he saw his damaged severed hand on the floor , Sam and Vanessa picked him up off the floor and opened the door and then walked outside. They waited for a few minutes and stood there as the sandstorm cleared , "beam us up" said Sam as he held his communication device , moments later Vanessa , Sam and Chef Raj were back safely on their ship , chief engineer Vox pressed the button on the communication panel on the wall and said "Doctor Mizar , emergency in the transporter room".
A few minutes later Doctor Mizar appeared in the transporter room and took Raj to the medic area and treated his wounds , several hours later Chef Raj woke up after his treatment and sat up. "I've given you a synthetic hand , it'll take some getting used to" said Doctor Mizar as he gave Raj a mirror , Raj looked into the mirror and looked at the scars across his left eye and cheek , "you're lucky , I was able to save your eyesight in that left eye of yours" said Doctor Mizar.
Chef Raj thanked Doctor Mizar as he helped him to his sleeping quarters , "get some rest" said Doctor Mizar as Raj lay on his bed , meanwhile Sam and Vanessa sat down on the comfy chairs in Sam's sleeping quarters and talked about what happened on the planet. "I swear that creature was dead before it attacked Chef Raj again" said Sam , "don't worry about it , were safe now" said Vanessa as she moved towards him and sat beside him , "I wonder what other things we'll find on our journey" said Sam.
Vanessa held him close and comforted him as they wondered what they would encounter next , their ship continued to fly onwards through deep space towards its next destination....
