A few weeks later...
It was nearing the end of May and the streets of Blackthorn Valley were bustling , the circus had finally arrived and the townsfolk headed towards the large clearing in the woods to see it. It had taken all day for the performers to set everything up for the first night of the circus , meanwhile Daniel and Talia left their home and walked through gaslamp lit the streets , they followed the townsfolk into the woods until they reached the large clearing.
Daniel and Talia stopped for a moment and looked at the circus , a large red and white striped tent stood in the centre of the large clearing , multicoloured banners and flags were tied between the tall trees and balloons were pinned to the ground. Music began to fill the air as Daniel and Talia walked ahead slowly , around the rest of the large clearing stood a small purple coloured fortune teller's tent , a few cages with animals inside them and some horse carriages.
Daniel and Talia walked onwards and into the large tent and chose their seats then sat down as the other townsfolk took their places , "this is very interesting and the show has not even begun yet" said Daniel as he and Talia looked around. Inside there was a tightrope high up near the top of the tent and some other props laying around across the mat , "I wonder what we shall see" said Talia as Daniel wrapped his arm around her waist and held her close.
Seven minutes later...
The circus tent was full of visitors and the ringmaster had appeared on stage , "welcome , welcome one and all to our circus" said the ringmaster as he adjusted his hat and smiled. As the crowd listened to the ringmaster speak the first act came into the stage , "our first act tonight is the funniest clown in town" said the ringmaster , a moment later he left the stage and the first act began , the clown walked across the stage and tripped over his own feet and fell over.
The crowd laughed and smiled as they watched the clown fall onto his ass , the clown stood up and picked up a fresh cream pie off a stool , he looked at the pie and licked his lips. The clown invited the ringmaster on stage and offered him a taste of the pie , the ringmaster looked closely at the pie as the clown giggled mischievously , suddenly "SPLAT"...the ringmaster grabbed the clown's arm and pushed the cream pie in his face and smiled.
The crowd laughed out loud and clapped as the clown wiped the cream off his face , as the ringmaster left the stage the clown ran towards him but then slipped on the cream that had landed on the mat. The clown fell face first and landed on his big red nose , the crowd continued to laugh and then clapped once more as the clown bowed and left the stage , a moment later the ringmaster came back to the stage and said "ok folks our next act I fearsome but don't be afraid , you're safe with us"
A few moments later a few of the performers wheeled out a cage with a lion inside it , the crowd gasped and almost jumped out of their seats in shock as the lion roared loudly. The performers unlocked the cage as the lion tamer walked on stage with his whip , a moment later the lion climbed out of it's cage and followed the lion tamer as he walked around the stage , the lion roared once again as it started at the lion tamer , it's sharp claws scratching the mat as it growled.
The lion began to move closer and closer towards the lion tamer and swiped at him with it large paw and claws , the lion tamers whip made a cracking sound as it hit the floor. The lion growled again as it continued to move a little closer towards the audience , "this is very exciting" whispered Talia as she held Daniel's hand and watched , the lion tamer moved around and cracked his whip against the mat in front of the lion , the lion slowly backed away from the audience and moved towards it's cage.
The lion tamer continued to crack his whip against the mat and got the lion back into the cage , he locked the cage and then bowed to the audience and smiled. The audience clapped as the performers wheeled the cage off the stage and the ringmaster came back on , "amazing!" He said and then introduced the next performer...
