The corona epidemic is raging. Sacrificing thousands of lives every day. The second stage is becoming more lethal than the first stage. People are always worried about what kind of news will come. At the beginning of the second phase, the epidemic shook the city of Mumbai. But, within a few days the number of cases had dropped dramatically. Despite the death toll in Delhi, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh, the metropolis of Mumbai has easily recovered. What is the reason? What is the strategy followed to prevent the spread of the virus? Can other cities take Mumbai as an ideal ..!

Mimbai trembled during the initial outbreak but this time it fought against the corona .. Although the cases were heavily registered in early April .. they came under control in a short time .. Is that so? City Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal said Kovid was detained in the Mumbai metropolis because of "precise planning, prompt action, smart communication and coming forward to spend wherever needed." It is said that good results have been achieved with the support of both the ruling and opposition parties.

Elsewhere in Delhi, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, etc., there is still a severe shortage of oxygen and beds. But, those words have not been heard in Mumbai for the last few days. The Supreme Court has lauded the Brihanmumbai metropolitan government for tackling these dire situations. It directed the Union Government and the Union Health Secretary to talk to the Mumbai Municipal Commissioner and take appropriate advice. On the other hand, the Nagpur bench also lauded the work of Brihanmumbai. The Nagpur City Commission has directed to set up a 24 × 7 control room similar to Mumbai.

Mumbai's strategy is decentralized struggle

Commission Chahal says the success was due to a decentralized fight against the Kovid epidemic. The issuance of Center guidelines that in the latest circumstances even retired General level persons can also be made partners in Kovid services has further strengthened Chahal. Chahal, along with two others with experience in defense service, executed his plan. He took over as Mumbai city commissioner in May last year. By then the corona was excerpted. Despite the lockdown, cases are still being reported. Horrible videos like corpses in garbage cans, orphans on the road are going viral on social media. On the other hand, if you lack almost everything .. Face masks, PPE kits, sanitizers, oxygen, everything is a problem. Chahal worked hard to get Mumbai out of this situation.

Eliminating fear in people

Various surveys suggest that Kovid‌ is becoming more widespread due to fear. People need to be made aware of the virus and their fears allayed. Chahal noted that the corona test reports were reaching out directly to the victims, causing panic among them to rush to regi hospitals, leaving those in need of emergency treatment untreated. Kovid testing labs usually deliver test reports to victims at 6 p.m. With this, thousands of people are calling the control room set up by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation for beds in hospitals at once. The same line until midnight. With this, Chahal made a crucial decision. Testing labs are no longer required to provide test details directly to victims but to the BMC control room. This will give an accurate count of the number of cases being registered

Establishment of war rooms

It is good that the details of the victims are coming to the control room. But, should timely medical services be provided to those who come in positive? For this, Chahal has set up war rooms to work 24 × 7. BMC lost 24 warrooms throughout the month. The War Room staff will notify the relevant persons at 6 am every morning if anyone in the War Room area is found to be positive. Each war room has 30 telephones, 10 telephone operators, 10 doctors, 10 paramedics and 10 ambulances. A total of 240 dashboards were set up at the rate of 10 more dashboards within each war room. How many beds are there in the hospitals in the respective wards? How many are filled? Etc. The details are with them. This allows information about the beds to be known from time to time.

There are about 55 testing labs in the city. 10,000 reports a day from these. These are sorted by the control room staff at the BMC headquarters on a war room basis and are communicated to the concerned persons by 6 am. The paramedics within the war room go directly to the victims' homes and examine them. They will be taken to a nearby hospital in case of an emergency. This has led to an exceptional reduction in congestion at hospitals. There is no room for any manipulation as the allocation of beds is done entirely under the auspices of the Municipal Corporation.

Medical staff on the platform

A large number of medical personnel were required to implement the plan. With this, Chahal decided to hire doctors on a contract basis to work in the war rooms. Rs per month. In addition to the 50,000, 900 doctors and 600 nurses were employed near the war room. Nearly 800 new ambulances and specially trained drivers were deployed on a war footing. It has also entered into an agreement with the company to utilize Uber services where necessary.

All hospitals are under BMC control

As corona cases are on the rise in Maharashtra, all hospitals are overcrowded with victims. In addition, private hospitals are robbing Andinakadi. The city of Mumbai is no exception. The same thing came to Chahal's attention. Immediately all the hospitals in the Mumbai metropolitan area were brought under the control of the municipality. Exact rates for medical services were determined. In addition, BMC permission is required to admit or discharge the victim to the hospital. The whole process has to be done through the warrooms. Therefore, there is no possibility of any manipulation. There is no mention of blocking the beds and selling them privately. Healing was an opportunity for everyone in need. In any hospital, the war room staff in that area will examine the victim every day and if he or she does not feel well, immediately discharge and assign the bed to someone else

Planning for cremation ceremonies

If the medical services for the corona victims are included .. In many parts of the country, funerals are not held as a matter of honor at present. The situation of having to wait in cemeteries for days. But, that does not seem to be the case in Mumbai. Do you know why? Chahal planned that it would also happen according to a method. A special dashboard has been set up in consultation with the Indian Institute of Technology. Here you can find out where the vacancies are in the 47 cemeteries in Mumbai. If necessary, the staff will come and move the bodies and perform the funeral. This almost reduced the congestion at the cemeteries.

In anticipation of future danger ..

The second wave is currently going on in the country. Medical experts, on the other hand, warn that a third stage outbreak is also imminent. In this context, Chahal said, 5,500 new beds have been set up in Mumbai. Of these, 3,000 beds have oxygen facilities and 2,000 ICU beds. He said another 2,000 beds were being prepared for use in times of emergency. He says there are currently 22,000 beds available in Mumbai and arrangements are afoot to increase it to 30,000 in another three weeks.
