Being nice is a curse

“Being nice is a curse”not because kindness is wrong, but because the world often mistakes it for weakness.
Nice people give more than they receive. They listen when they’re tired, forgive when they’re hurt, and stay silent when they should speak. They bend so others don’t break, and in doing so, they slowly crack themselves. People get comfortable taking from them, forgetting that even the kindest hearts have limits.
The curse isn’t being nice.
The curse is being nice to those who never learn gratitude, never respect boundaries, and never return the care. Kindness without self-respect becomes self-neglect.
Being nice should be a choice, not a sacrifice.

Because true strength is knowing when to be kind—and when to protect your peace.

That's why they say people should learn to control their emotions ,but tbh it's not always possible. I've lost myself at times too, given my all, and felt everything crashing down. But in the end, u have to remember to protect urself first. Take care of ur own heart and ur own emotions, bcz no one else will do it for u. It's okay to give, to be kind, to invest but whether someone chooses to value that is entirely their choice. If it was one-sided from the start, u can't just expect it to suddenly become two-sided. Protect urself. Protect ur heart. Don't let anyone make u neglect ur own worth.:)

Absolutely right! Protecting our own peace of mind is not selfishness, but a necessity for survival. Well written!
