The Assassin
Epic Legend
As the shadow of a creature leapt towards them it suddenly vanished , a moment later they heard someone laughing amongst the darkness , "show yourself or die" said Odysseus. A moment later a person emerged from the shadows , the person revealed themselves and stood in front of them , "what is that creature.." said Odysseus , "it is just Silenus , he is a satyr...his people like to play tricks on others" said Athena , "I see , impressive skills you have Silenus" said Odysseus as he looked at him.
Silenus's appearance was half man and half goat with a tail like a horse , "Silenus's people live in the woods and mountains" said Athena , "have you seen anything following us?" Asked Odysseus. "I have not seen anything my friend's" said Silenus , "hmm I am sure something was followed us" said Athena , "I must be on my way , I am meeting Dionysus by the lake" said Silenus , "very well , try not to play to many tricks" said Athena as she smiled at him.
A few moments later Silenus vanished into the shadows as he headed towards the lake to meet Dionysus , Athena and Odysseus travelled onwards through the forest until they reached a clearing. The golden sunlight shone above them as they sat beside a tree , "Silenus's tricks were very convincing" said Odysseus , "yes they were but the coldness was not his doing" said Athena , "so something or someone is following us?" Asked Odysseus.
"Yes , whatever or whoever it was seems to have gone , for now at least" said Athena , a few minutes later Athena and Odysseus stood up and continued walking through the forest. About one hour later they had finally left the forest and saw a temple ahead of them , "let us go and see the temple atop the hill there" said Athena , Odysseus and Athena walked faster towards the temple and climbed the steps up the hill , a few minutes later they had arrived atop the hill and stood in front of the temple.
"That climb was a little tiring but the hunger for adventure gives me all the energy I need" said Odysseus as he stretched his legs , "this is the temple of Persephone , Hades demanded his followers to build it" said Athena. A moment later it had felt cold once again and Athena sensed a dark presence behind them , she turned around and drew her sword and shield and Odysseus did the same , a few columns of blue fire appeared from nowhere and spun around in a circle.
"What is happening?!" Said Odysseus as the columns of blue fire burned brighter and embers floated in the wind , "HOW DARE YOU STAND BESIDE MY BELOVED PERSEPHONE'S TEMPLE" said a dark figure as he emerged from the raging flames , "stay behind me Odysseus my love" said Athena , she pointed her sword towards the dark figure , the dark figure lowered his hood to reveal himself , "I am Hades bow down before your god" he said.
"I bow before no-one" said Athena as Hades slowly lifted his head , "ah Athena it is you , what are you doing at my beloved Persephone's temple" said Hades. "Odysseus and I are on a journey together Hades" said Athena , suddenly an enormous figure emerged behind Hades and grabbed him , "it is Cronus the titan , he has escaped from the underworld" said Athena as Cronus threw Hades through the temple wall , Cronus roared in anger and reached his hand out towards Athena and Odysseus...
