Detachment is the path to freedom. Nothing is ever yours to keep there is nothing you can lose because nothing belongs to you. You didn't lose love you let go of love that was never yours to hold . You did not lose happiness it comes and goes because its temporary.every thing changes. Holding on to what can't be held guarantees pain fear anxiety and suffering grow from attachment from trying to hold on to people patterns and outcomes when you feel as though you lose you are only releasing the illusion of ownership. There is nothing to possess but everything to experience. Accepting impermanence creates space to observe without suffering to act without fear and to live . You are free when you let go of the need to control what you can't.

Ya it gives us more control in oneself and more importantly the after effect becomes less

I think there's a difference between holding on to something and holding on to the expectation that it will always remain.

We can love deeply, cherish moments and become attached to people without necessarily having control over how things unfold.

Perhaps the real art of letting go isn't about convincing ourselves that nothing matters, but learning to appreciate what we have without allowing the fear of losing it to take away the beauty of experiencing it.

After all, impermanence doesn't make something meaningless; sometimes, it's what makes it precious.

Beautifully said. The vulnerability of losing something is exactly what gives it its true weight. Appreciating the beauty of the moment while accepting its temporary nature is indeed the real art.

Detachment is possible only after attachment, which can be painful. The key is not to be attached. Me and mine are two forms of attachment.
Do not be attached to any person, place, or thing as yours. Nor be attached to the idea of me, my views, thoughts, or beliefs. Attaining this is possible, but it takes immense discipline and hard work.
Until then, traverse the whirlpools of emotions, have a few heartbreaks, and break some hearts.....
it is all fun once you stop taking life and yourself seriously....

So true. Total detachment is a long journey and until we get there the chaos and heartbreaks are what actually make us feel alive. The moment we stop taking ourselves too seriously the suffering turns into just another experience. Beautifully put!

I like that perspective. There's something meaningful about being able to embrace that vulnerability rather than letting it make us hesitant to experience things fully. Maybe that's where the balance lies: allowing ourselves to care deeply, even when we know we cannot hold on to everything forever.

Exactly. True courage isn't about being bulletproof it’s about allowing ourselves to care deeply even when we know how fragile it all is. Finding that balance is where the shift happens. Glad we are on the same page!

Absolutely! Sometimes, it's lovely to realise that a conversation doesn't have to end with one person convincing the other; simply arriving at a shared understanding is meaningful in itself. I have genuinely enjoyed this exchange with you!

Beautifully said. The best kind of exchanges are the ones that don't look for a verdict but simply allow two minds to meet. It’s rare to find someone who reads between the lines so well. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this conversation too! Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

I feel the same way! It's rare to come across conversations that flow so naturally. I have genuinely enjoyed exchanging thoughts with you too. Thank you!
