Love shown by a genius and powerful person is marred by arrogance and a condescending nature. It is shown as mercy and given as alms. It is not truly love but a vacuum a bored person is trying to fill.
There is a fable—I do not know if it is true or not.
Ravana used to visit Sita every day, displaying his grandeur to woo her. He would dress and take the form of different types of people so that she might like him in some form.
Someone suggested, "Why don't you transform into Ram and visit her?"
He replied, "I cannot do that, because if I even take his name in my heart, it is filled with compassion and love. I cannot remain Ravana anymore."
