2019 — The Golden Year ✨❤️

Sometimes I feel like 2019 wasn't just a year… it was the last chapter of a different world.
TikTok was everywhere.
People were making random videos, following trends, sharing memes and actually having fun without everything feeling so serious.
Friends used to meet outside, families spent more time together, evenings felt longer, and life somehow felt simpler and happier. We had social media, smartphones and the internet, but it didn't feel like they controlled every part of our lives.
And then came 2020.
COVID-19 changed everything.
Lockdown happened. Streets became empty, schools and colleges closed, everyone stayed inside. At first, we thought it would last only for a few weeks… but those weeks turned into months.
Strangely, even during lockdown, there were moments we'll probably never forget.
People were on TikTok, making funny videos, doing challenges, watching movies and series, playing games, talking to friends for hours, cooking at home and finding ways to entertain themselves.
But when the lockdown finally ended, the world didn't completely return to what it was before.
People changed. Relationships changed. Friendships changed. Social media changed. Even the way we spend our free time changed.
And now it's 2026.
TikTok isn't even available in India anymore. Trends come and disappear within days. Everyone seems busier, more connected digitally but sometimes more distant personally. The simple happiness we had in those days feels harder to find.
Maybe 2019 wasn't actually perfect.
Maybe it just feels perfect because we didn't know we were living through something we'd miss so much later.
2019 → 2020 → 2026
Seven years passed… but sometimes it feels like we lost an entire version of our lives somewhere in between. ❤️
What is the one thing from 2019–2020 that you wish you could experience again?file_00000000c10881f58e54969d3b3133b7.png

After a global event of such magnitude, to expect that life will return to the previous normal is naive. I may wish for many of the things I did back then, but over time I might have lost those things anyway, so to pinpoint anything I miss doing with or without the event is to be with a certain set of people who are not around anymore.

This hit deep. It’s never really the places or the routines we long for, it's the specific set of people who aren't around anymore. "

Don't you,
We can go to the same places, do the same thing but it just doesn't feel the same because the people who made it special aren't there...
