Diving Into the Rainy Season

Gifferr

Epic Legend
And here comes June...The real monsoon begins in Kerala. We move from the scorching heat of summer to the cool, moody rainy season. Everyone has their own special memories of the monsoon: the sound of the rain, the smell of fresh soil, the flash of lightning, and the fear brought by loud thunder.

My own monsoon memories come from the days I learned to swim. I learned quite late, when I was 13 years old. Seeing five-year-old kids jumping into the pools like frogs made me feel insecure. But as the days passed, I gradually learned. I even nearly drowned a couple of times, which actually made me learn the process faster!

After that specific monsoon season, I only ever waited for the pools to fill up again. I would go with my friends and act just like those frogs in the water. Swimming is truly a great exercise. It requires total coordination between your body movements, hands, and breath all at once. I still remember the adrenaline rush of jumping from a high point into the blue pond water. It was mesmerizing.

The wait is finally over. Here comes another June. Another monsoon. Another adventure.

What a beautiful reminder of how certain seasons carry entire chapters of our lives within them.
June doesn't just bring rain—it brings memories. The first drops on the earth, the scent of wet soil, the laughter of friends, and the courage to try something that once seemed impossible. Your story of learning to swim feels a lot like the monsoon itself: uncertain at first, a little frightening, but eventually becoming something you eagerly wait for every year.
I especially love how the pools that once felt intimidating became places of freedom and adventure. There's something magical about looking back and realizing that what once scared us later became one of our happiest memories.
May this monsoon bring you the same excitement, the same adrenaline, and perhaps a few new stories to tell when the next June arrives. Here's to rain-soaked days, overflowing ponds, and the joy of feeling like a frog in the water once again. ️‍♂️✨
