That night ~3❤️

During the journey, she kept gazing out of the window. She had become unusually quiet lately. She no longer even tried to argue with him. Had she changed completely? Thoughts like these kept troubling him.

"Shall we have a drink each?" he asked, breaking the silence between them.

She immediately turned towards him and looked at his face. After gazing at him for a few moments, she smiled and replied,

"Why not? Sure."

The car entered the house through the gate. He parked it in the porch, and both of them got out and walked inside.

Suddenly, she grabbed his hand. He looked at her intently.

"What if we mix whisky into the mojito? I've been wanting to try it once."

He smiled slightly and said, "You go and freshen up. I'll get everything ready by then."

When she came into the living room after freshening up, he was sitting on the sofa, watching a movie with a drink in his hand. He had kept another glass aside for her and held it out to her. She took it and settled herself on the sofa.

She kept watching the television, taking occasional sips from her glass. Although he appeared to be watching the movie, his attention was entirely on her.

Damp strands of her hair fell across her face. In the dim glow of the television, her eyes sparkled. He felt an inexplicable attraction towards her.

Slowly, he reached out and gently placed his hand against her cheek. But she didn't turn to look at him, not even for a moment.

"This is quite good, isn't it?" Her sudden question startled him.

"What?" he asked.

"I mean... this mojito mix. I like it."

Saying that, she got up from the sofa.

He caught hold of her hand. She gulped down what was left in her glass and held it out towards him.

He had never seen her like this before.

When he took the glass to place it on the table, she stopped him.

"Pour me one more."

Something didn't feel right to him.

"That's enough for today," he said, getting up from the sofa. "I'll be right back."

With that, he walked towards the kitchen.

Her eyes were half-closed. As the alcohol began to take effect, she seemed to lose herself. She picked up the whisky bottle from the table and started pouring herself another drink.

She repeated the same thing over and over again.

Eventually, she began feeling dizzy. Feeling nauseous, she hurried towards the washroom. But she accidentally stepped on her dress and fell to the floor.

Hearing the noise, he rushed back.

He saw her mumbling something to herself, searching for her shawl on the floor as she struggled to get up. He couldn't make out what she was saying. Curious to know what it was, he stood a little distance away and watched her for a while.

"I love you so, so, so much... Miss you very, very badly... I love you so, so, so much... Miss you very, very badly..."

She kept repeating the same words, her tongue stumbling over them.

When she finally found her shawl and managed to get up, she noticed him standing in front of her, staring at her in utter bewilderment.

Pretending not to notice him, she turned around and started walking away.

Suddenly, she felt nauseous again. She hurried towards the washroom, but he rushed to her, held her close, and helped her get there.

Afterwards, he helped her wash her face and brought her to the bedroom, making her sit on the bed.

Even then, she continued repeating the same words.

"Love you so, so, so much... Miss you very, very badly..."

"What was it that you wanted to tell me?" he asked her with a slightly serious expression.

"When did I say that?" She turned her head slightly towards him and asked in a slurred voice.

"Didn't you tell me that something was bothering you? That you were upset about something? What was it?"

It was a lie he had made up, hoping that the intoxication would make her open up.

The moment she heard that, she burst into loud laughter.

She couldn't stop laughing. Again and again, she laughed uncontrollably.

"That's enough. Stop laughing and answer my question," he said with a hint of irritation.

Suddenly, she stopped laughing.

She got up from the bed and walked towards him. Running her fingers through his hair and gently brushing the back of his neck, she held him close and said,

"You know something? No matter how unconscious I become, no matter how much I drink, neither you nor anyone else can ever know what's inside me. For that, even I have to choose to reveal it."

The intensity in her eyes as she said those words was more than he could bear.

Suddenly, she pressed a kiss against his cheek.

He stood there, gazing at her, unable to look away, uncertain of what she would do next.

"Haven't you seen me before?" she asked with a hint of sarcasm.

"Not like this," he replied, refusing to back down.

At that, the smile on her face slowly faded.

She held his hand, made him sit on the bed, and then lay down with her head resting on his lap.

"I am afraid of every single glance of yours. Because you love my body more than you love me."

As she said those words, a tear rolled down her cheek and fell into his lap.

Hearing that, he felt as though something inside him had been torn apart.

He gently tried to lift her face, but she had already drifted off to sleep...
