Ever heard of INFIBULATION~...!?
It is the ritual of removal of the external female genitalia
and the suturing of the vulva, a practice found mainly in
Northeastern Africa, particularly in Djibouti, Eritrea,
Ethiopia, Somalia, and Sudan .
This is the practice of excising the clitoris and labia of a girl or women
and stitching the edges of the vulva together to prevent sexual intercourse.
It is the complete scraping of vagina and stitching it together to prevent the girl from having sex.
This is usually done around the age of five.
The vagina is sealed leaving a small hole for the girl to menstruate or urinate.
The girls leg's are tied with rope for days so that the wound can heal.
It usually take 15 to 40 days for wound healing.
During this period the girl's legs remain tied and she is prevented from moving.
Basically the stitches are meant to be reopen by her husband on the wedding night so he can have intimate with her.
Imagine someone open stitches and immediately having sex with her.
just imagine the painnnns....I mean serious pain...
It also cause urinary tract infection in women, fistulae and infertility etc.
THE WORST THING IS THAT THIS IS DONE TO WOMEN BY WOMEN IN AFRICA .
In our times this practice is still used and is part of the culture and religious tradition
of those populations. Informing and letting people know what happens is a moral and
ethical obligation in respect of the poor girls, future women, who passively undergo
an atrocious practice that will irreversibly mark their lives.
